Galileo News sends only important alerts — breaking news when it happens, plus one story a day from your followed or suggested topics at a random time, with a gap in between. Alerts stay off until you turn them on. Weather alerts use your location.

Galileo News is built to show you the news with as little data collection as possible. This policy explains what the app stores and why.
Your account (name, email and profile photo), your saved and liked stories, reading history, and your settings are stored on your own device, in your browser. If you create an account with email, your password is stored only as a salted hash, never as plain text. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google, and nothing else.
If you allow it, your location is used only to show local stories and places near you. It is not stored on any server and not shared.
Stories and images come from the publishers and news feeds listed on each story. When you open a story, you leave Galileo News and that publisher’s own privacy policy applies.
You can turn each type of notification on or off at any time in Settings.
You can log out at any time. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes everything the app has stored on your device.
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date.
